Proposal for Site Intervention (Cochran | Hays)


Encouraging the infiltration of rainwater on a given site has become an essential means to reversing the numerous problems propagated by common stormwater systems. In direct opposition to sending rainwater through drainage systems to the nearest river or large body of water, on-site infiltration takes measures to remove toxins, replenish groundwater, and reinforce localized habitat. To best treat rainwater at Observatory Hill, we propose a model that will attempt to infiltrate the majority of rainwater locally through a matrix of cut-and-fill interventions.
